The UK Schools Games

The UK Schools Games is a new event based on the hosting in London of the 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games. It is a multi sport event for the most talented young people of school age in the country. This year the games will consist of 5 sports, these are athletics, swimming, gymnastics, table tennis and fencing there will be disability events in athletics & swimming.

 

Each of the five sports will take place in a 4 day programme in an environment designed to replicate the feel of a major event such as the Olympics & Paralympic Games. The table tennis event is to be played on 8 tables in the National Badminton Academy at the Scotstoun Leisure Centre. Eight regional teams of 4 boys & 4 girls aged under 18 representing Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland (East), Scotland (West), England (North), England (South), England (East) and England (West) will be invited.

 

This event is being developed and organised by Youth Sport Trust who are working with Fast Track Events to achieve a professionally staged event. They are working closely with the National Governing Bodies and their respective School Sport Associations to make this possible.
