Stop Press :   14th July - Well done to James Grayson for winning the under 14s and Scott Hollowood for winning the under 11s at the recent Rotherham Schools Individual Tournament. Jamie Hudd was second, Will Boardman third and Dan Elvidge fourth. Lewis Robinson won the under 11 plate. Thanks to everyone who attended and to Paul Hollowood for organising last nights presentation evening, it was a tremendous evening and congratulations to all the winners and thanks to everybody who contributed to the buffet and raffle.

4th April 2007 - Congratulations to the Scorpions A team of (James Grayson, Will Boardman, Jamie Hudd, David Taylor and Scott Hollowood) for winning the National Cadet League (Yorkshire Region) Division One at Dearne Valley yesterday. Well done to all the players who took part. Ben Barlow plays very well to reach the last eight of the Juniors before losing to Darius Knight, he also partnered Chris Lewis to the semi-finals of the doubles before losing to the eventual winners Knight and Drinkall. Good performances also from Joe Dunn and Mark Johnson.

9th March 2007 - A brilliant result by the Scorpions A team in the Senior British League to beat Seasiders and maintain their Division One status for next season without their top two players. Well done to Matt Squires, Matthew Dodds, Damiam Piper and Tom Taylor. The young B team also battle to 2 draws with local rivals Pudsey and Chesterfield. 12th February 2007 - Congratulations to the Scorpions A team, Stephen Arliss, Joe Dunn and Chris Parker for winning Division 2B of the Junior  British League. The inexperienced B Team battle hard without much success until 2 draws on the last day, full details on the Junior League Page. 12th December 2006 - Tough weekend in the Senior British League with the A team registering 2 victories and the B team one. 3rd December 2006 - Excellent day at the Yorkshire Regional Trials at Bradford, James Grayson and Jamie Hudd both had some good wins in the under 15 boys, just won by Mark Johnson. 15th November 2006 - Some good wins coupled with a few disappointing losses at the Stockton 4* last weekend. The ETTA are running a two Coaching Courses at the EIS - details here. 11th Sept 2006 - Great news that Alan Dunn is now fit enough to start taking training sessions again after his recent illness. Can everyone make every effort to welcome him back !! His first session will be next Wednesday (20th Sept) at Thrybergh Sports Centre, then the sessions will run as normal (Fridays at Bramley - coach Mick Barlow, Saturdays at Herringthorpe and Mondays at Dearne Valley College).

     Tough weekend in the Senior British League with only one win for the B Team to show for the tremendous effort both teams put in. The A Team minus 3 members of last years Division 2 winners found it tough in Division One loosing 3-5, 2-6, 0-8 and 3-5. Luke Carrington playing at no.1 had some tremendous wins culminating in the scalp of Simon Nouch. Damian Piper also had a couple of good wins and Matthew Dodds battled hard without any reward. The B Team lost 3-5 in a match where a victory should have been possible and 2-6 on the Saturday, but with a stronger team on Sunday morning stormed to a 7-1 victory before falling away again to Yorkshire rivals Pudsey 2-6. Damian Piper was undefeated in his only match and Mark Johnson and Steven Arliss put in a good performances with 5 wins and 4 wins from 8 matches respectively.

      Ben Barlow was a member of the victorious England North Boys team at last weekends UK Schools Games in Glasgow. Well done Ben. Good look to all players playing in this weekends Chandlers 1* at Grantham and Newcastle Grand Prix.

4th Sept 2006 - Congratulations to Richard Element for winning the Junior event and James Grayson the Cadets at last weekends South Yorkshire County trials. Well Done to Jamie Hudd and Scott Hollowood for finishing 3rd and 4th, respectively. 26th July 2006 - South Yorkshire trials Sat 26th Aug, see Mick Barlow for more details. Scarborough weekend a great success. Thanks to Paul Hollowood for the organisation, our hosts Scarborough T.T. Premier Club and to all the competitors from both teams who played in a wonderful spirit. Scorpions won the table tennis 3-2 and Scarborough were winning the football 4 goals (and two lights) to nil when it was abandoned.

17th July 2006 - Training Session cancellations for the summer are Bramley Sunnyside and Dearne Valley until the start of the next term. Herringthorpe is cancelled on Saturday 22nd July, 29th July and 5th Aug. Thrybergh is cancelled on Wed 26th and 2nd Aug. Providing numbers are sufficient after that, the rest of August will be open as usual at the two centres.
